ECON*LOCK Versions

ECON*LOCK is available in two versions, the „DRIVE“ and „RALLY“.

ECON*LOCK „DRIVE“:

It activates automatically once the engine has been started and the gear shift lever is put into „D“. In „D“-Mode the converter lockup control will lock at 78km/h in 4th and 5th speed and immediately once the 6th speed has been activated. The lockout speed limit is 64km/h. The lockout engine load is much lower than in „S“-Mode.

In „S“-Mode the converter lockup control offers different limits for each indiviual gear preset and gear in action.

„S-2“: lockup limit is 30km/h, lockout for engine brake assistance 20km/h
             operates in 2nd gear

„S-3“: lockup limit is 38km/h, lockout for engine brake assistance 22km/h
             operates in 2nd and 3rd gear

„S-4“: lockup limit is 60km/h, lockout for engine brake assistance 30km/h
             operates in 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear

„S-5“: lockup limit is 70km/h, lockout for engine brake assistance 40km/h
             operates in 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th gear

„S-6“: lockup limit is as soon as 6th gear is in action, lockout for engine brake assistance is 60km/h, operates from 2nd gear upwards.

To deactivate ECON*LOCK the driver just needs to press „2nd-Mode ON and OFF“. To reactivate ECON*LOCK when driving, the driver just needs to go into S-6 once.

ECON*LOCK „RALLY“:

It activates only when the driver goes into S-6 after starting the engine. In „D“-Mode the converter lockup is only activated by the ECU.

In „S“-Mode the converter lockup control offers different limits for each indiviual gear preset and gear in action.

„S-2“: lockup limit is 30km/h, lockout for engine brake assistance 20km/h
             operates in 2nd gear

„S-3“: lockup limit is 38km/h, lockout for engine brake assistance 22km/h
             operates in 2nd and 3rd gear

„S-4“: lockup limit is 60km/h, lockout for engine brake assistance 30km/h
             operates in 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear

„S-5“: lockup limit is 70km/h, lockout for engine brake assistance 40km/h
             operates in 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th gear

„S-6“: lockup limit is as soon as 6th gear is in action, lockout for engine brake assistance is 60km/h, operates from 2nd gear upwards.

This version has a replaceable program chip and offers the use of different software.

ECON*LOCK „SPORT“:

Same hardware but different software.

In „D“ it works in „DRIVE“-mode, in „S“-mode and activated PWR-mode it works with the with the „RALLY“-mapping. This setup is only available if the vehicle uses already a CHIP-tuning, so far has been approved to work with Steinbauer and J-Sports.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
ECON*LOCK works currently at full functionality on all pre-facelift-EC/RU and Central/South American models. Activation in „D“ does not work in all pre-facelift-Austrialian models (requires S-6 to get activated). Middle East Versions as well as 6-cylinder versions have not been tested yet.
